Cruise Holidays
The right cruise depends on far more than the itinerary. We help you compare ships, cabins, dining, atmosphere, inclusions and departure options before you choose.
Several destinations, one unpacking job.
A cruise can combine an easy journey with the chance to visit several places in one holiday. Days ashore are balanced with time on board, while your cabin, dining and entertainment travel with you.
The ships and cruise lines can feel completely different. We look past the headline fare to find the sailing that suits how you actually want to spend your time.
Choosing the right ship matters
- Compare cruise lines, ships and cabin categories
- Check what the fare includes and what costs extra
- Arrange flights, transfers and hotel stays around the cruise
- Consider regional airports and convenient UK departure ports
- Match the atmosphere on board to the holiday you want
The cheapest fare may not be the best value.
Drinks, Wi-Fi, tips, dining, transfers and flights may be included, optional or charged separately. Cabin position and ship size can matter just as much as the route.
The right cruise line
An adults-only Virgin voyage feels very different from a traditional Fred. Olsen sailing or a Norwegian coastal journey with Havila.
The right cabin
Inside, ocean-view, balcony and suite categories vary by ship. Position, deck and nearby public areas can affect comfort too.
The complete cost
We compare the fare with likely extras, so an apparently lower price does not become a more expensive holiday once on board.

Adults-only cruising with a less traditional feel.
Virgin Voyages is for travellers aged 18 and over. Its ships replace the usual main dining room and buffet format with a broad choice of restaurants and smaller places to eat, with dining included in the voyage fare.
Essential Wi-Fi, group fitness classes, entertainment and gratuities are also included. Sailings cover Europe, the Caribbean, North America, Alaska and longer repositioning routes.
Couples, friends and solo travellers who want lively, modern cruising without children or formal cruise traditions.
Premium cruising with modern design and a wide choice of destinations.
Celebrity combines the facilities of a larger ship with a polished, more grown-up atmosphere. Its ocean fleet sails to almost 300 destinations across more than 70 countries, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, Asia, South America and the Galápagos.
The Edge Series is known for contemporary design and distinctive spaces. Suite guests can choose The Retreat, which brings private dining and dedicated lounge and sundeck areas on applicable ships.
Travellers who value good food, smart design and attentive service, with the option to upgrade to a more private suite experience.
A straightforward cruise package with plenty included.
Marella Cruises is part of TUI and makes the logistics particularly easy. Its flight-inclusive packages include flights and transfers, with departures available from a range of UK regional airports.
All Inclusive is standard, covering meals, snacks and a selection of drinks, while tips and service charges are included too. Routes include the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Caribbean, with Cruise & Stay options available on selected holidays.
First-time cruisers and anyone who wants one clear package price with flights, transfers and most onboard spending covered.
A working coastal route through Norway’s most dramatic scenery.
Havila Voyages sails the historic Norwegian coastal route between Bergen and Kirkenes on modern ships. The full round voyage takes 12 days and visits 34 ports, with shorter northbound and southbound journeys also available.
This is a different style of cruise: the route, scenery and coastal communities are central to the experience. Full board, locally sourced food and seasonal excursions complement the Northern Lights in winter and the Midnight Sun in summer.
Travellers drawn to Norway’s landscapes, changing seasons and coastal communities rather than a resort-style ship.
Destination choice, established service and flexible packages.
Princess sails to more than 330 destinations, with particularly strong choices in Alaska, Europe, Japan, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean and on longer world voyages.
MedallionClass supports personalised service, including keyless cabin entry, finding travelling companions and ordering food and drinks to selected locations. Princess Plus and Princess Premier can add drinks, Wi-Fi, dining and other benefits to the base fare.
Couples, families and longer-haul travellers who want a large choice of routes with a familiar premium cruise style.
Smaller ships, British departures and destination-led routes.
Fred. Olsen’s fleet of Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral is smaller by design. Fewer guests can mean a calmer feel on board, quicker access ashore and the ability to follow itineraries shaped around scenery and smaller ports.
Cruises depart from several UK ports, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Southampton and Rosyth. The range covers the Norwegian fjords, Northern Lights, British Isles, Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Caribbean and longer voyages.
Travellers who prefer a smaller ship, a traditional atmosphere and the convenience of joining a cruise from the UK.
We can arrange more than the cruise.
A sensible flight, an extra hotel night and reliable transfers can make a big difference, particularly when the ship leaves from another country.
